In light of the recent experiences of finding desecrated hosts under Church seating, I sought guidance from the Archbishop. He believed parishioners would be shocked but be more devoutly attentive to how they and others receive holy communion in the future. He advised that for an extended period holy communion should be given on the tongue only and not in the hand to ensure reverence and discourage the person or persons concerned from  committing further sacrilegious acts. A Solemn Act of Reparation can be part of the process of restoring the liturgical, spiritual and pastoral peace and calm to a parish.  We will therefore have a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament this Sunday 1st May from 5-6pm which will include prayers and and a solemn act of purification and blessing of the Church and concluding with Benediction. I hope that many parishioners will be able to join us.  Fr John
