Thursday 17th   Safeguarding Training: We have organised training starting at 6:30pm in the Church Annex. This is required of all parish volunteers who interact with children or vulnerable adults. It should last approximately 2 hours. Mrs. Joanne Aitken is kindly coming out to do a catch up session for our Parish. We have 10 children liturgy leaders already signed up, can you please message the FB page or let Fr. John or Roisin Fulton or Paul McLaren know if you would like to attend too. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you there.  Other safeguarding training sessions  for those who have not attended training or want a refresher..

Monday 28th – Friday 1st Sep.  Fr John will be attending the Archdiocesan Clergy Retreat at Kinnoull. Fr John Peter will celebrate daily Mass at St Francis Xavier’s, Falkirk.  In a pastoral emergency please contact him there on 01324623567. 
Sunday 3rd   -  National Pilgrimage 2017 The National Pilgrimage in honour of Our Lady of Fatima will take place at 3pm on Sunday 3 September 2017 in Carfin, Lanarkshire. During this year’s pilgrimage, the bishops of Scotland will consecrate our nation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The principal celebrant is His Grace Archbishop Philip Tartaglia of Glasgow.  Booking form for bus / high tea at Plough on Notice Board.
Saturday 9th - Sunday 10th  IONA PILGRIMAGE FOR YOUTH for 16-`19 year olds.  See poster for details of this exciting opportunity to go on Pilgrimage to one of the earliest centres of Christianity in Scotland and which still proclaims the Gospel through the spiritual renewal of all who visit this holy and historic island.
Saturday 23rd   : Parish Annual Retreat  The annual retreat will take place at Kinnoull Retreat Centre.   Further information and a list will go on the bulletin board soon. Cost will be £10 per head which will cover the bus and the Retreat cost will be met from parish funds.

Do you feel drawn to exploring Christianity in the Catholic tradition, maybe even wondering about becoming a Catholic ? Well, RCIA [The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults] might be for you. Our local Cluster Parishes run RCIA each year for those like you who have a real desire to discover more about Jesus and His Church and what it means to believe and belong. St Francis Xavier’s, Falkirk hosts these weekly RCIA sessions annually from September to June. Please contact me if you’d like to know more. Fr John.
STRATHCARRON HOSPICE SUMMER RAFFLE   Support your local Hospice and be in with a chance of winning a 2013 (63) White Fiat 500 Pop in the Strathcarron Hospice Summer Raffle in association with Forth Carz. Every year, Strathcarron Hospice provides care and support to over 1,800 local people living with a life-limiting illness or condition, at a time when both they and their family need it most. All of Strathcarron’s services are provided free of charge including in-patient care, Day Care, Hospice@Home and bereavement support. The Hospice needs to raise over £11,000 every day to keep these running and the money raised from the Raffle will be used to help the Team continue to provide endless care, love and support to those in our communities who are living with a terminal illness. For just £1 per entry, you have the wonderful opportunity of winning this fantastic car whilst supporting your local Hospice.
