OFFERTORY    £ 787.25  Thank you.
The Church’s Financial Year runs from January to December when a formal return has to be made on all income and expenditure.  I am delighted to say that this Schedule of Finance has been prepared and forwarded to our Archdiocesan Offices in record time this year! So, on behalf of the Parish I once again extend our sincere thanks to John McGaffney, our Parish Accountant and to Mike Kelly his deputy for their hard work in managing our finances week by week and for compling the return and to our cheerful and dedicated Counting Teams who give so much of their time and skill in counting and recording Sunday collections throughout the year and of course to everyone for your generous contributions to the upkeep of the Church and the ready support you offer to the many special collections and other financial demands made of us. John has prepared a Summary of Income and Expenditure – copies available by the Notice Board.
As you know, we are undertaking a rolling programme of Church repairs, maintenance and upgrading of facilities. We have renewed the sound system; repainted the Church ceiling in a more suitable colour, replaced the worn out tiles and patch-work carpeting  with a fine new carpet and are in the process of improving Church lighting and considering replacement of the votive candle stand with a newer safer model.
It was also decided to replace the stylised figure of a dove in the round window above the Tabernacle with a representation of our Parish Patrons, Our Lady of Lourdes and St Bernadette in anticipation of the 160th anniversary of the Apparitions next year. Brendan Berry, a well-known artist who has produced pieces of sacred art-work for Churches across Scotland, offered to design and make this for us and the picture on the Notice Board gives an impression of what the final work will look like.
Thank you to everyone who helped in uplifting of floor tiles, moving of furniture in preparation for the laying down of the new carpet; in the re-siting of the Altar, Tabernacle, Organ, associated furnishings and in the cleaning and tidying follow up.
Friday 3rd      St Bernadette's PS Race Night
