Church Care and Maintenance
The Parish Finance and Fabric Team meet regularly to deal with ongoing care and maintenance issues. At a recent meeting it was proposed to paint the inside of the church during September.
The intention is to replace the dark olive green on the ceiling with magnolia and to contrast this with another colour on  part or all of the cross beams.
The sanctuary area will be painted white as before. Completion of this work will also allow us to replace the carpet tiles on the aisle and install improved lighting. Comments or suggestions will be welcome by contacting Fr John or any of the fabric group. (Chris Ross; John McGaffney; Mike Kelly; Paul O'Donnell or Joe McKee) It is not intended to do anything with the lower wooded panel area at this stage but suggestions for that would be most welcome as well.

WELCOMERS /PASS-KEEPERS
We are a little light on Passkeepers /Welcomers.  Presently we have a team of 6 who cover Saturdays and Sunday's on a rota basis. Main activities being to greet Mass goers and hand out hymn books and parish newsletters as well as being available for any emergencies which may arise [thankfully not very often]. We would benefit from another 4 or 6 parishioners to fill in so that everyone is on duty about once a month rather than once a fortnight as at present.  If you are able to help please speak to any of the team or Fr John.

CLUSTER PARISHES

Interested in joining the Catholic Church…..always wanted to learn more ?
Well, inter-parish cooperation on RCIA [the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults] was something noted at the first Cluster meeting as being a good example of existing collaboration. Sessions begin at 7.30pm on Wednesday 7th September at St Mary of the Angels, Camelon and so if you or anyone you know is interested in exploring the Catholic way of Christian discipleship and perhaps becoming a full member of the Catholic Church, then please speak to Fr John as soon as possible.

Friday 21st October
7-9.30pm St Francis Xavier’s Hall: 2nd CLUSTER Meeting  to carry out a detailed examination of joint resources and to look at how we can more effectively and generously share such resources in terms of people, plant [Church buildings and other property], celebrations and finances.
