Congratulations   to all of our children who were Confirmed by Archbishop Cushley at St Francis Xavier’s, Falkirk on Wednesday 11th. Please continue to pray for them as they prepare for their First Holy Communion here at Our Lady of Lourdes & St Bernadette’s on Saturday 28th May.

Thursday 19th
7-9pm our first CLUSTER MEETING hosted by St Francis Xavier’s when the Archbishop wants us to explore what pastoral provision could be shared among our cluster parishes and what would need to remain a single provision?  The 2nd meeting [26th August] will focus on a detailed examination of joint resources and the 3rd [TBA]  What makes parishes vibrant and naming goals for joint action.  These are open meetings and all are welcome.
 
Saturday 22nd  / Sunday 23rd  
Mary’s Meal’s Rags to Riches Appeal and Raffle.  Please bring your gifts of fabrics and clothing in black bags to Church over the next week or so for the uplift which will take place after morning Mass on Sunday 23rd May. Thank you.
 
Friday 27th
St Mungo's high school PTA Race Night 7.30 pm £4 contact Mgt Louis 07779065443 for tickets BYOB and nibbles St Francis church hall Falkirk. Raffle prizes and race sponsors also needed.
 
Saturday 28th
Our P4 stage children will make their first Holy Communion here at Our Lady of Lourdes and St Bernadette’s during a special Mass beginning at 10.30am.
 
 
JUNE
 
Friday 3rd – Friday 10th
Fr John will be away. Fr Henry McLaughlin will be in residence.
 
Saturday 4th June St Bernadette's Primary Summer Fayre 11-2pm. Everyone is welcome. There will be a variety of stalls, children's activities, refreshments and entertainment from the Drama Club and Stenhouse School of Dance.  We are looking for donations of home baking and if anyone would be willing to volunteer on the day please contact either Angela Green or Frances Burke.
Saturday the 18th June.
Senior Citizens Summer Outing  This year's outing has been arranged for Venue is Loch Lomond Shores and on to Helensburgh with High Tea in the Winnok Hotel in Drymen. 11am departure and return approx 8pm.  Anyone who wishes to attend please their name to the list at the back of the Church.

Sunday 22nd MAY  
Notre Dame Folk Choir Ecumenical Service. I am writing on behalf of the Ecumenical Core Group to invite you to this service on Sunday evening, May 22nd, at 6.00pm at St. Andrews, Church of Scotland. The Notre Dame Folk Choir is a world renowned choir from the  Catholic University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.  This is their third visit to Scotland and, on this occasion, they are being hosted by St. Joseph's RC Parish in Sighthill,  in Edinburgh. I hope you can join us at St. Andrews on May 22nd. for our service and for the reception which follows.The Choir will also perform in concert at St. Catharine’s Convent, Lauriston Gardens, in Edinburgh on Saturday evening, May 21st at 7.30pm.
