to Isabella Holton for once again organising our annual Parish Retreat at Kinnoull Monastery, Perth, last Saturday which everyone agreed was a great day of prayer and spiritual reflection.
Priests’ Retirement fund Special Collection 25 & 26 May 2019
The Aged & Infirm Clergy Fund of the Archdiocese provides the living costs and housing for our 24 retired priests. The special collections are one of the main sources of income for the fund.  In 2018, income generated from the special collections, donations and legacies was around £290,000, which is almost £80,000 less than monies required to support our retired clergy.  In order to continue to pay allowances to the next generation of Priests as they retire, we need to raise twice as much as we did in 2018.  Please do consider what you can give to this collection and bring your donations on weekend of 25/26th May 2019.  Additionally, if you are a tax payer please complete a Gift Aid envelope with your name and address details as this allows us to claim additional revenues. Please pray for our retired priests, who have served us well and be as generous as you can. Thank you for your generosity.
Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd June
Retiring collection at Vigil on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd for the Apostolate of Communications.
Sunday 2nd June : St Margaret’s Pilgrimage 2019:
The annual summer pilgrimage in honour of St Margaret will take place on Sunday 2 June in Dunfermline. Itinerary: Ecumenical prayers at Dunfermline Abbey, 11am; Guides available for historic tours, 12 noon onwards; Public procession of relics, 2.15pm; Holy Mass with Archbishop Cushley as main celebrant, 3pm. It should be a great day. All are very welcome.
This years  Venue is Ayr first then on to Largs for High Tea. We leave at 11am and will return as usual around 8pm. As with the Christmas event we find it necessary to ask for £5 per person this year.  Anyone who wishes to go should add their name to the list at the back of the Church.
Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th   DAY FOR LIFE 2019
which this year will focus on the often hidden scourge of domestic abuse and how we can help bring healing and hope to those caught up in a life-cycle of oppression and violence. Retiring collection after Vigil on 8th and after morning Mass on Sunday 9th will go to support groups and organisations who offer assistance to victims.
