Project Truth – August 2018 is an award winning youth outreach project run by SPUC Scotland. They travel round the towns and cities of Scotland, bringing the pro-life message to the streets. They run engaging monthly stalls as well as a week-long pro-life Roadshow each August in various Scottish cities. To support their work go to Go Fund Me Project Truth.
World Meeting of Families in Dublin 21-26 August  Although we may not be able to attend in person, a specially commissioned prayer card has been printed to help us engage spiritually in seeking the Lord’s grace to refresh and renew faith in our families. Please take a prayer card home after Mass.
Saturday 1st September  : Archdiocesan Day for Altar Servers
In the Gillis Centre, starting at 11am breaking for lunch [please bring a packed lunch – juice provided] and concluding with Mass at 2.30pm.  This is a welcome initiative and should be a great experience for all existing Altar servers and those who are interested in becoming members of parish teams.  Mindful of our Safeguarding protocols ‘Parental Consent’ forms are available from Fr John for all who hope to attend. Closing date is Friday 24th August. To ‘book’ a place please e-mail . 
Wednesday 22nd August 2.15pm at St Bernadette’s PS for parents and parishioners who would like to help us with the pupils who are starting their journey towards the Pope Francis Faith Award this year. Mrs Irvine is taking the lead on this and will go through everything with you on the afternoon and hopefully answer any questions
Sunday 2nd September : NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE IN HONOUR OF ST JOHN OGILVIE   As in previous years we will run a coach to Carfin and join the many hundreds from across the country who gather each year for our National Pilgrimage. This year the concelebrated Mass will begin at 3pm followed by recitation of the Rosary in procession around the grounds. Please add your name to the list on the Notice Board as soon as possible so that we make a firm booking.  Travel cost, £10 per adult, children go free.  If enough folk are interested we will also arrange high tea at the Plough on our return.  Thank you.
RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults : Falkirk Cluster Parishes
Do you feel drawn to exploring Christianity in the Catholic tradition, maybe even wondering about becoming a Catholic ? Well, RCIA  might be for you.  This year’s RCIA sessions begin on Wednesday 5th September from 7.30-9pm at St Francis Xavier’s Falkirk. Will all those who have already expressed an interest and others who would like to know more, please make contact with me as soon as possible so that I can pass on your details to Fr Jamie Boyle. Friday 7th – Sunday 9th September : National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress in Liverpool. Eucharistic Congresses are gatherings of clergy, religious and laity which promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. Here in Scotland, we are invited to pray for the success of the congress and for an outpouring of blessings far and wide across the universal Church, including ourselves.  + By way of formal participation we will hold Holy Hours of Adoration here from 7-8pm on Friday 7th; 5-6pm on Saturday 8thand 5-6pm on Sunday 9th September. +
Sunday 9th September 2018 Annual Pilgrimage for the Beatification of the Venerable Margaret Sinclair St Patrick’s Church, Cowgate, Edinburgh. 2pm Opening; 3pm Film : The Story of Margaret Sinclair, Servant of God; 4.30pm Holy Mass.  Refreshments available.
Friday 5th – Sunday 7th October   The ‘Beginning Experience’ are holding a residential week-end at the Conforti Centre, Coatbridge for those bereaved through widow / widoerhood, divorce, separation.
