Welcomers /Pass-keepers
We are a little light on Passkeepers / Welcomers.  Presently we have a team of 6 who cover Saturdays and Sunday's on a rota basis. Main activities being to greet Mass goers and hand out hymn books and parish newsletters as well as being available for any emergencies which may arise [thankfully not very often]. We would benefit from another 4 or 6 parishioners to fill in so that everyone is on duty about once a month rather than once a fortnight as at present.  If you are able to help please speak to any of the team or Fr John.

Ongoing Spiritual formation…..Our Parish Parish retreat this year will take place at Kinnoull Monastery in Perth on 15thOctober.  It is a whole day retreat leaving by bus from Larbert at 9.00am and returning 4.00 – 4.30pm. Fr Gerry Mulligan, a Redemptorist from Kinnoull, will lead us through the day. The list for our Kinnoull retreat  is now on the notice board at the back of the church. Taking part means taking time out for a day devoted to yourself to be spiritually renewed and refreshed. The cost is £10 which includes travel and lunch as well as coffee etc in between – a bargain!!   Please give it some thought.

Friday 21st
7-9.30pm St Francis Xavier’s Hall: 2nd CLUSTER Meeting  to carry out a detailed examination of joint resources and to look at how we can more effectively and generously share such resources in terms of people, plant [Church buildings and other property], celebrations and finances

Becoming a Catholic……
These days people who are considering becoming Catholics or simply want to discover more about the Catholic Church, join a local RCIA [Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults] group made up of parishioners and local clergy which meets weekly over several months to explore what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and how we learn to know, love and serve him through membership of the Church. In our Parish Cluster the weekly RCIA sessions will be held at St Mary of the Angels Church Hall, Camelon on Wednesday evenings from 7.30-9pm starting on 7th September.  If you or a friend have always felt drawn to the Catholic Church and feel now is the right time to take that step on your journey of faith, please speak to Fr John or contact George Heriott at St Francis Xavier’s geoherriott@blueyonder.co.uk
