ADVENT 2015 is far more than four frenetic weeks of shopping leading up to a few self-indulgent Christmas festivities.  No, ADVENT  prepares us by word and sacrament to celebrate Christ’s first coming and the life we live as his friends and disciples in a world which so needs light and hope, justice and peace and love. This is how we await Christ’s  second coming at the end of time.
Wednesday 2nd Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, the founder of Mary's Meals, is giving a talk in Falkirk Trinity Church at 7pm about his book ' The Shed that Fed a Million Children' and the work of Mary's Meals.
a charity very dear to us here in Our Lady of Lourdes & St Bernadette’s. Tickets for this event are being sold through the Steeple Box Office, costing £10, with proceeds donated to Mary's Meals.
also ‘School of Evangelization’ session at Gillis Centre 7-9pm for anyone interested in helping their parish grow and develop in todfay’s world.
Saturday 5th St Mungo’s WINTER FETE 10am - 2pm. Anyone interested in hiring a stall should contact Any donations for the tombola would be greatly appreciated and can be handed in to Miss Cully in Social Subjects. The money raised will go to charity and school funds. It should be a great day. Everyone is most welcome to come along. Entry is £1 for adults.’
Monday 7th December CHILDREN’S LITURGY WORKSHOP There will be a Children’s Liturgy Workshop on the Year of Luke from 7-9pm at the Gillis Centre. This is for anyone who is a Children’s Liturgy leader or who would like to train to lead a group. This year we are recommending Sr. Joan Brown’s book ‘Celebrating God’s Word’ for all leaders. This will be used at the workshop. Please register by the 3rd December for this event with
Thursday 17th  SENIOR CITZENS’ CHRISTMAS DINNER at the Glenbervie Golf Club. 1.30pm for 2pm.  If you wish to attend this, please add your name to the list on the Notice Board.
“True to the End “ is a book by one of our parishioners, Joe Quinlivan on the austere living conditions in rural Ireland and experiences and effects of emigration from Ireland during the middle of the last century. A fascinating memoir including insights into the construction industry. Copies of Joe’s book will be available after Mass over the next few Sundays, price £12 per copy.
